Advisory Committees
Advisory Committees are established as technical advisory bodies functioning under the delegation of the Faculty Board or the Permanent Delegated Committee. By their very nature, they do not have decision-making authority unless specifically authorized by these bodies. They are tasked with specific responsibilities or created to address particular issues and dissolve upon the resolution of those matters.
Upon their establishment, the purpose, composition, and operating procedures of the committees must be clearly defined. The Dean or a designated delegate will preside over the committees, leading and moderating discussions. While committee members must be part of the Faculty Board, the presiding officer may invite other faculty members to participate in discussions without voting rights.
Committee meetings will be held at the faculty on business days and must be convened in writing with a minimum notice of 48 hours. However, if deemed urgent by the presiding officer, a verbal notice may suffice. A committee will be considered validly constituted when at least half of its members are present. Reports, proposals, and recommendations will be adopted by a simple majority, provided that the required quorum is met at the time of voting.
Members will vacate their position if they lose their status as members of the Faculty Board, resign from the academic role that grants this status, or upon the election of a new Dean. In such cases, new members will be elected from the appropriate sector as soon as possible. In the absence of regulations from higher authorities, committees will determine their own internal procedures.
The following committees are currently active:
- Validation Committee: Advises the Dean on the recognition of credits earned at other educational institutions.
- International Relations Committee: Provides guidance and oversight for mobility programs and exchange students.
- Curricular Assessment Committee: Evaluates students’ curricula to determine their eligibility for recognition of competence.
- Quality Assurance Committee: Oversees the implementation and monitoring of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
- Teaching Committee: Assesses the Faculty’s degree programs, identifying strengths and weaknesses, proposing improvements, and evaluating schedules and examination calendars.
- Final Degree Project/ Bachelor’s Thesis Committee: Advises the Dean on matters related to the FDP/Bachelor’s thesis regulations, including the interpretation and resolution of complaints.
